Hardware
The
Minispeed 2000 is based on a 8052 microcontroller. This 8-bit-processor
contains an 8k byte ROM and a 256 byte RAM. Contrary to most microcontrollers
this one has been enlarged with commands for bit-addressed processing.
Through this set of commands which has been developed for this family
of processors, programs which are working with bit-orientated data and
are using the store more economical can be run. Due to this, faster processing
and a clearer survey are possible. In addition a serial port, an interruptcontroller,
two counters/timers and four I/O-Ports, which are the connection to the
periphery, are built into the module. Due to this the module enables a
space and power saving construction of the whole system.
As basis for date and time the MC146818 time module of Motorola which
is also used in personal computers confirm to industry standards is used.
As impulse generator
the model 2157 of Kienzle has been chosen. Within the given measuring
range, this generator delivers impulses in a frequency which is proportional
to the number of revolutions. This frequency is catched over an electronic
line of the MINISPEED 2000 and is converted into the measuring unit [km/h].
